It's a dog's life: Georgetown University's mascot goes to Hollywood

As it's the start of a new year, we feel it's the perfect time to appreciate the more light-hearted things in life.  We love a university that takes the time to put a smile on the faces of stressed-out students which is why we felt it our duty to paws (ahem) and appreciate Georgetown University's homage to some of TVs most iconic shows.

A little background to Georgetown University

Georgetown University is a private research university in the Georgetown area of Washington D.C. It is home to a vibrant community of students, faculty members and professional staff, priding itself on its innovative teaching methods. It has a total enrolment of about 7,500 undergraduate students who enjoy a vibrant campus life shaped by Washington's cultural and political history.

The university boasts an impressive social media following across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Jack the bulldog is the official mascot of the Georgetown University Hoyas athletic teams. Jack has been the given name of at least five bulldogs since 1962 and he has become a beloved Georgetown institution.

Barks and Rec

Our personal favorite in the series is a video starring Jack the bulldog as the entire cast of Barks and Rec. All the characters get a mention, including; Tom Haverfurr, Les-flea Knope and Ron Dawgson.
