We’re continuing our look at university Welcome Days with a two-part blog series on 10 of the best (and most inventive) social posts. Here in Terminalfour, we love a good shortlist so without further ado we will start ranking which colleges got really creative welcoming students on campus and marking that most momentous of occasions, Move-in day.
10. University of Portland – Instagram Photo & Quote
We loved this post from the University Of Portland, Oregon featuring students on Move In day and their answer to the question “What was your favorite part of today?” A great way to capture the mood on campus on the day!
9. Vanderbilt University – The Move In Countdown
Vanderbilt University generated some envious build up to Move In day on campus. In the days before hand, they shared videos on Instagram of throw backs to previous Move In days, count down videos and words of welcome from staff and volunteers.
8. Connecticut College #Home2Conn
Incoming students to Connecticut College were encouraged to use the #Home2Conn hashtag to document their arrival on campus and the results are pretty special. Students took photos and videos of their first day giving a snapshot into the atmosphere on campus.
7. University of Cincinnati – Throws it Back to 1982
The University of Cincinnati regularly does a #TBT on their instagram. In fact, it’s one of the things that makes their instagram account so charming. They feature photos of old games, the campus as it stood in times gone by, students getting to class and students graduating. For Move In Day, they posted a photo of students moving into Sander Hall in 1982, proving that some things never change!
6. University of New Hampshire does the time-lapse again
To mark the first day of the fall semester, the University of New Hampshire created a time-lapse video of thousands of new and returning students attending class. The university asked students to find themselves in the video.
