XML Compatible
Future Proofed With XML
XML is a method of tagging information so that it can be exchanged and delivered to completely independent systems. This ensures that the technology that you are investing in now is "future-proofed" and thus will be compatible with technology in the future. The basic structure of our software allows you to define layout templates with associated properties. Site Manager's publishing engine allows for the distribution of content in XML using XSL to define the layout of the information.
XML forms a backbone to Site Manager in two key ways:
Content Storage
Site Manager stores all its meta data within a JDBC compliant database. This allows for the data to be extracted in XML on a live pro-rata basis, or in bulk, for use elsewhere within your organisation. This method of generating XML allows for the syndication, backup, importation and re-use of content, either within your organisation or shared with third parties.
XML Delivery
A practical use of XML is to re-purpose content to various environments such as web and wireless. This is achieved through the setting up of XML style sheets which dictate the format and layout of the information.
