Verity Gateways
Verity Gateways provide comprehensive access to the diverse content repositories across your enterprise, while enforcing each repository's native security and access controls for document indexing and viewing. Verity Gateways also support advanced features unique to each repository being accessed, such as joining text and fielded data from attachments and external metadata repositories, and mapping heterogeneous document field names into a consistent naming scheme.
Verity Gateways are available for the following repositories:
- Documentum
- File systems (NTFS and UNIX)
- HTTP
- Lotus Notes
- Microsoft Exchange
- ODBC databases
Secure custom gateways to additional repositories can be built quickly and easily with the Verity Gateway Development Kit (GDK). Event-driven and Distributed Indexing Verity K2 Enterprise provides the most flexible, fault-tolerant indexing solutions available. This provides your intellectual capital management solution with end-to-end scalability, flexibility and accuracy from indexing to search results no matter how many information sources are being managed.
Event-driven Indexing
Verity K2 Enterprise can deliver event-driven indexing by "pushing" documents out of specified repositories or applications as soon the documents are created. This provides true real-time performance for high-value applications that can't wait for regularly scheduled spidering processes to locate and index new content.
Distributed Indexing
Verity K2 Spider provides near real-time performance with extreme fault tolerance. This is made possible by the K2 Spider "controller" which manages crawlers, indexers, jobs and workflow. The crawlers "walk" through information sources while the indexers build Verity Collections. Existing processes can be distributed and new processes added to optimize performance, meet content growth, or both.
Flexible Security
Verity K2 Enterprise delivers a granular and flexible security model to keep your intellectual capital safe. Users can authenticate to all repositories and applications they are authorized to access with a single logon, eliminating the need to log on to applications each time they are used. In addition, users can log on to K2 Enterprise with their existing LDAP, NT Domain, and UNIX username and password, so administrators do not have to maintain separate security lists. K2 Enterprise also delivers Verity Collection-level and document-level security by integrating seamlessly with the native security models of your existing applications.
Multiple-language Support
Verity K2 Enterprise supports UTF-8, over 70 languages, and multiple-language codepage detection. New Verity Unicode Locales automatically identify content by language, and index it into either multiple- or single-language Verity Collections, depending on administrative preference. The advanced linguistic analysis functionality provided by Verity Locales lets users retrieve relevant results from content in a single selected language or across all information, regardless of language. Verity Locales are available for the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
