Adaptive Ranking
Popular ranking improves Verity's already accurate relevancy ranking by incorporating implicit user feedback. The more times users select a particular document, the higher it appears in results lists for all users similar to you. This ensures the documents that likeminded users consistently find most relevant appear near the top of results lists, streamlining the information discovery process.
Information Recommendation
Verity K2 Enterprise analyzes users' past and current behaviour to automatically recommend related entities such as documents, categories, products, queries, or communities of interest. You can also define custom entities, such as similar products, alternative suppliers or related procedures, to support specific business processes. Recommendations can be based on the current query, the document or other entity being viewed, the type of information the user has accessed in the past, or both. This ability to base recommendations exclusively on the current session is especially valuable in enterprise and ecommerce environments in which end-users information needs change rapidly. In addition, recommendations can be based on individual or group behavior to build ICM applications that effectively capture and transfer knowledge across your enterprise.
Expert Location
Based on the information that a user is viewing, or the user's previous queries, Verity K2 Enterprise identifies and locates experts within your organization. These experts are recognized by the information they have used Verity K2 Enterprise to locate and access, as well as the information managed by K2 Enterprise that they have authored.
Communities
Verity K2 Enterprise brings together communities of users with similar interests or roles by analyzing how they locate and access information. Individuals can belong to more than one community of interest, facilitating collaboration and knowledge transfer enterprise-wide.
Federated Recommendation
Verity's Federated Recommendation extends the reach of your ICM systems by recommending information that Verity Federated Search has previously accessed. This means content from external sources such as public Web engines, news feeds, syndicated content and non-Verity enterprise search engines that other people found useful can be recommended alongside your enterprise content to solve a wide variety of ICM challenges.
Auto-Initialization & Profile Management
Auto-initialization allows you to jump-start the Verity Recommendation Engine for immediate use. The engine's import interface uses an XML format to initialize the system with user information from various sources, including authored documents, public e-mail forums, CRM systems and Web server logs. The engine's profile management capabilities also allow you to easily create, update, delete, reset, hide and show user profiles.
