New version of the content management software introduces Site Manager to non-English speaking international users.
TERMINALFOUR, a leading European enterprise content management company, today announced the release of TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 6.0, a major new edition of its leading-edge enterprise content management product. Its key new feature is the multilingual interface, which removes many of the language barriers previously limiting entry into foreign markets. This new release is a significant part of TERMINALFOUR?s international expansion strategy.
Over fifty new features enhance the new release, all directly driven by customer requirements identified through user groups. Along with the multilingual administrative interface, other features facilitate Java CMS standards compliance (JSR170); key functionality for organisations managing greater than fifty website and intranet sites; out-of-the-box data objects to extract information from other corporate systems; and improved migration tools for clients looking to migrate from third party content management systems. Modules have also been developed to address the needs and functional requirements of intranets and extranets.
While TERMINALFOUR Site Manager has supported multilingual publishing for many years, administrative and content contributors in non-English speaking countries were required to view Site Manager?s content management interface in English. Site Manager 6.0?s multilingual interface now opens the product and all its features to webmasters from every country in the world, as it can be viewed in any language required. The initial release will include interfaces in French, Spanish, Irish & Welsh with Arabic to follow shortly and further language packs will be made available based on customer demand. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager has now joined the small number of enterprise web content management companies that directly address the needs of users in non-English speaking countries and, in particular, countries where legally software must be made available in the local language.
TERMINALFOUR Site Manager has prided itself on its open platform and continues to work towards growing the number of standards in its industry. Site Manager is working towards JSR170 compliance and version 6.0 brings partial compliance in this regard. TERMINALFOUR Site Manager 6.0 also allows for third party modules that support JSR170 to interact with it. Organisations can now change CMS systems without having to lose the bespoke and custom developed applications that were built around the previous system.
TERMINALFOUR's powerful Data Object functionality, which allows for snapshots of data to be extracted from internal systems for secure publication externally, has been improved with the inclusion of out-of-the-box objects for specific systems. One such object allows for ?chunks? of information to be automatically captured from other web and web service based systems and included as components within a webpage, even if that published webpage does not have access to the original source of the information.
Additional packages have been developed, which can be installed with Site Manager 6.0, to enhance the overall end-user experience particularly for Intranet and Extranet projects. These module packs include specific Intranet modules such as; discussion boards, calendaring, online polls, buy & sell facilities, room and equipment booking, advanced on-line people finder and HE charting facilities. The optional packs are have been developed so that users can deploy them easily and quickly.
Piero Tintori, managing director, TERMINALFOUR, said, ?With Site Manager 6.0, we have really embraced the development ethos of open source communities, while also providing the quality commercial support and product commitment that medium to large organisations expect. The enhancements to Site Manger 6.0 are largely driven by our community of customers, end users and their developers."
