The Role
Reporting to the Software Architect, this role involves the development, bug resolution and testing of our TERMINALFOUR Site Manager Web Content Management solution and associated modules.
Responsibilities
Based around the Java development environment working in technologies such as Java Servlets, JavaScript, JSP and XML, the role will specifically involve the following:
- Working closely with our Software Architect to identify and specify new features, modifications or modules for TERMINALFOUR products.
- Testing software developed to agreed quality control standards.
- Resolving known bugs/issues.
Requirements
- IT/Computer science degree or third level equivalent.
- +3 years experience as a Java & JSP Developer in a commercial environment.
- Excellent knowledge of various J2EE web platforms, applications and technologies.
- Experience in specifying projects and working with others to develop those specifications.
- Experience using Java / J2EE Application Frameworks, including Apache Struts and Spring.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of formal specification techniques and tools (UML etc.) would be very advantageous.
- An interest in and experience in web and database based technologies as well as hardware and operating systems such as (in order of priority):
Java, Java Servlets, JSP, JUnit, RDBMs (including Oracle, MySQL & Microsoft SQL Server), JDBC, HTML/XHTML, XML, JavaScript / DHTML / DOM, CSS, Unix, Web Services / SOAP, Hibernate, Apache, J2EE Application Servers and LDAP.
