Pre-Sales Consultant
The Role
The objective of the role is to provide technical expertise as and when required in order to facilitate and support successful sales activity.The role involves providing current and potential customers with consultancy and training services in order to help them plan, specify and deploy TERMINALFOUR solutions throughout their organization.It alsoinvolves working closely with a diverse range of medium to large organisations, across a number of areas, technical and non-technical.It offers the right candidate a wide range of opportunities to demonstrate and develop customer focused, technical and problem solving skills.
The ideal candidate should be able to adapt quickly to the needs of our customers, which could range from architecting a solution or to conducting a workshop with customers in order solve a particular business problem.The success of TERMINALFOUR is based on our ability to provide relevant solutions and expertise that add real value to our customers. Therole ispivotal in delivering that service.
The Pre-Sales Consultant role is based within our Sales and Marketing department, reporting to TERMINALFOUR's Commercial Director on a day-to-day basis, but will also work very closely with TERMINALFOUR's Professional Services and Support departments.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Pre-Sales
- Providing technical expertise to the TERMINALFOUR sales team, customers and partners throughout the sales cycle.
- Presenting and demonstrating TERMINALFOUR and partner software, both in person and remotely
- Contributing to and preparing bids and proposals, particularly the technical and functional elements
- Attending, presenting and representing TERMINALFOUR at trade shows and conferences
- Visualising the solution during the pre-sales process and working closely with potential customers to plan the structure of a solution
- Developing and managing TERMINALFOUR demonstration materials, available on our website and included with evaluation software that is targeted at potential customers
Partners
- Providing consultancy and pre-sales product assistance to our partners who re-sell our products nationally and internationally
- Developing and conducting on-site and remote training courses on functional aspects of our solution, to ensure that partners are fully tooled-up to sell and deploy our solutions
- Assisting partners with their bid and proposal preparation
Post-Sales
- Developing and delivering workshop and consultancy programmes which can be offered to existing clients to ensure they maximise their use of TERMINALFOUR software
- Delivering TERMINALFOUR Site Manager and Autonomy (previously Verity) Administrator and Developer Training
- Working with existing clients to maximise their use of TERMINALFOUR software and identify up-selling opportunities
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of various web platforms, applications, technologies, HTML/XML mark up and languages
- Knowledge of content and information management best practices including metadata, search and accessibility
- Knowledge of web development processes, tools and standards
- Experience in capturing user requirements, documenting them and proposing solutions
- Experience in effectively imparting technical expertise and consultancy
Other Requirements
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a customer facing or pre-sales support environment
- 3rd level degree or equivalent, preferably in a web or technical discipline
- Proven track record of contributing to and supporting successful sales cycles
- Proven track record of developing and delivering training
- Experience in drafting bid and proposal documents
- Excellent inter-personal skills with both clients and colleagues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude essential
- Experience in presenting and demonstrating technical solutions
As TERMINALFOUR have an international client base, some travel will be necessary.
