Overview

The TERMINALFOUR website has been constructed to ensure that it is accessible to all. For this reason we have designed it to meet the W3C WAI-AAA guidelines. If you have any suggestions as to how we could improve the accessibility of our website please contact us directly.

A number of accessibility features have been added to the website and are described below.

This site was built using the TERMINALFOUR Site Manager Enterprise Content Management product.

Links

Many links have title attributes. All of them open in the browser and do not start new pages.

All images have ALT descriptions, unless they are decorative in which case they have null values.

Visual Design

CSS is used throughout, with proportional fonts to allow font resizing in most browsers. Non-CSS browser will still see all the content and also get a message that not all the formatting is being displayed. Tables are used rarely and only to display tabular data.

Structural Design

The website is coded to Transitional XHTML standards. All pages have been verified using the W3 Organisations validator. In addition sample pages are checked using the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer v5.0
  • Internet Explorer Mac v5.1
  • Internet Explorer v6.0
  • Internet Explorer v6.1
  • Netscape Navigator v6
  • Firefox 1.0
  • Opera v7.2
  • Safari OS X
  • Lynx compiled for Linux,
  • WeMedia Talking Browser v1.5.
  • JAWS 4.01

All older browsers can access the website although the content maybe without graphical layout due to lack of CSS compatibility within the browser.
